Just learned about this site, and thought it might be useful to other folks here:
Amateur Radio Tech for the Mobile Operator
Lots of information on all sorts of topics, from mounting options, to equipment types, to antennae, to mathematical formulas...

This is Alan Applegates site and it is one of the very best, when it comes to mobile amateur radio operation. Alan was of immense value and personal help as I slugged my way through the installation and trouble shooting of my Scorpion antenna. Anyone who is planning on a mobile operation, would be well served to read the material on Alan's site. While it probably will not come as any surprise, Alan uses and recommends the Scorpion Antennas made by Ron Douglass and the two of them offer the best customer service/technical support on an amateur product that I have seen.

I'm surprised Alan still has pics of Hi-Q's on his site. It's no surprise he makes no mention of them or High Sierra in his comparisons or rankings anymore
