Years ago there use to be a place in San Diego area where you could buy Paper Topo Maps ....cant seem to find it .....does anyone know where it has moved to or if there is a place still around??

Some time ago, we had a forum member that was in the business of selling paper maps (not sure of the area) who was considering becoming an advertiser. As I recall Larry knew him.

Thanks Dave I will wait to see if Larry jumps in ? I did find the place it was called "Map Centre" they where in the Clarmont area ....but they no longer have topo maps and they moved out of State ..

The Map Centre went out of business about a year ago. Yeah it was a good store. You can buy USGS topos from the USGS at http://www.usgs.gov/.

what about REI? I remember that they used to have a computer that could print out topos.

Yes they do, it is a National Geographic kisok. Never tried it. Also they sell the Tom Harrison topo maps and the National Geographic maps (paper & software).

The last time I was at a Sport Challet they had USGS Topo paper maps.

You might want to give them a try also.

Ranger stations and BLM offices generally carry the sectional Topo maps as well.

Adventure 16 has some USGS quads. I usually order from the USGS but I have picked up a few at Adventure 16.
