Has anyone installed an Amatuer radio in a H2 yet? If so any photos?

H2005:
As a matter of fact, yes we have a member who has installed amateur radios in an H2.
But first things first. Welcome.
If you get a chance, post up some details about you and your rig. I'll post some pics later tonight.

Don't mind Dave's tardiness. He isn't a spring chicken any more.

Dave's H2 has quite the setup.

Cool, I look forward to seeing his setup. I just finished my install and was just looking to see what other people had done for their installs. I have been very busy with work and I haven't had much free time lately.

How about a name and call sign ?? We can add you to the "official" OAUSA Amateur Radio Operator Roster
What radio(s) did you install in the H2 ?

OK. The pics.
There is a Yaesu 8800 and an Icom 7000 mounted on the dash. For UHF/VHF duties, the radios each have access to the roof rack mounted antenna via the antenna switch seen in the second photo. Neither radio is mounted so that it interferes with the view out the front as they are both below the hood line. Having them in this location makes cable hookup to the computer, the GPS, various modems and APRS equipment, much easier.

Dave,
On the antenna selector, which selector is that (what brand/model? I haven't seen a bulkhead mount selector like that. Did you modify one and turn it into a bulkhead selector switch?

Ollie:
It's been a while since I installed the selector, but I think it is either an MFJ or a Diawa. Both the switch and the surface on which it is mounted were modified just a little in order to make it work. The result was that the switch body is behind the dash (bulkhead), keeping both it and all of the co-ax out of sight and out of the way.

I like it. I'm going to have to do something like that.
