The net this week will cover the subject of coolers, whether powered by ice or electricity. With Christmas just around the corner, this might be a good time to get some ideas on a great addition to your outdoor gear, or better yet, it might be a good time to have your Santa Claus listen so he (or she) knows what to get you.

The following websites feature various types of coolers:

12/24V Electric Fridge/Freezer units

1. Fridge Freeze. American Made, in San Diego http://fridgefreeze.com/home
2. ARB. Imported, http://www.arbusa.com/Products/Fridges/20.aspx
3. Engle. Imported, http://www.engel-usa.com/gallery1.htm
4. National Luna, Imported (South Africa) http://www.nationalluna.com/refrigeration.htm
5. Waeco. Imported, http://www.waeco.com.au/products.asp?id ... 0&catId=57

Heavy Duty Ice Coolers

The timing on this couldn't be better, I just started the drawer system in which my fridge must fit. :D

Yeah, it's down again. Groan!

I suppose that there is a chance it will be up by net time, so check again.

Sorry I couldn't hang out longer....I was out of range by the time you probably got to 12 volt coolers....and Echolink was down... :(

Just wanted to add, for anyone who might be interested, the ARB just released their Freezer -Fridge in 3 new sizes - 37QT, 63QT, and 82QT - in addition to the 50QT they already had available...

I don't know if it was mentioned, but one advantage to a freezer-fridge over a cooler is the ability to transport medicine that requires refrigeration - something that's not really possible with an ice cooler.

Thanks Larry, I'll check out the specs on the ARB 37 and see if it will fit. I know Engel also has a new 40 out as well, which in my case fits with .25" left to spare.
