Swansea Town and around

We loaded up the critters and off to Havasu via Newport Beach--long story. Not far from the house is Mesquite Bay. It is part of the reserve and where the black bear was. Took the dog and did a bit of walking around. The city provides fishing areas. Got a few shots of the area and the newport pier as well. Went to Swansea via Parker as the gate to the wildernous has been shut. Nice drive, not much for wheeling-took the truck and got a few pics of the "Town." Made for a nice day and picnic, except it is cold. Did a bit of shooting. Happy New Year.

Regards, Steve

Hi Steve,

happy New Years Eve! Beautiful pictures! Love the water shots.

For some reason they take a long time to load. I know you are resizing them, but it still takes a while. Here's what I do: If you have photoshop (I have CS2) , you can go to File>Scripts>Image Processor. This little script will resize every image in a folder and save them in another folder in one step. Really handy!

EDIT: I think the website is scaling them for you. Best to resize them yourself then upload.

If you want me to delete this and not clutter up your thread, let me know.

Hi Eric,
Looking forward to seeing the new rig. I do resize and they load relatively quick in comparison to prior to resizing. I have tried different ways to resize and many times it degrades the pictures. The system I use seems to give me the best picture at a decent load rate. Plus, I only resize certain pics and export them to a specific folder. Meaning, I have reviewed the pics and decided which ones to post etc and do not have to do another review. I am sure you have a better way, but I am not real computer literate and will have to stick with what I know-which ain't much

The FJ is In Riverside--doing some repairs and upgrades--hope we can hit some trails in Jan. Best to you and the family.

Regards, Steve

OK, they do load much quicker than before. I can't speak for how PS resizes and optimizes the quality. I have tried several methods and haven't yet found the perfect one. PS works for me and with a couple of clicks I can resize a bunch of pictures.

I just went out twice in the last two weeks so I may be "unavailable" for a couple of months

Thanks for the complements. I am really enjoying night and star shoots. Please visit my photo site. The site is in my sig. I welcome feedback. It is a bit cold for star shoots, but tomarrow night, I will brave it--maybe. :?
