2007-07-13: Ophir Pass

Another trail run a few of us took last July. Was a great run. This run took a little over an hour to do. We took this trail from Telluride to Ouray after running Black Bear Pass so we could avoid the highways, Here are some of the pictures.:

If you look closely at this image you can see all the rigs alomg the shelf-road.

The tan paths you see down the mountainside are from the seasonal avalanches.

If you look closely on that third shot, you may be able to see the rusted rig that didnt make it on the bottom of the slope :)

Ophir is a nice trail. Not challenging - but beautiful and a great starter trail for many. Probably awesome early in the season - I think its one of the first that is plowed and the snow tunnels / canyons would be fun to drive through.
