Expedition Portal had their So Cal Desert Rendezvous 2011 this weekend.

Over 50 rigs showed up.
The Black Pearl with a fancy hat
I went on a run on Saturday to explore Red Cloud Mine and other prospect sites in the area.
It was a fantastic weekend.

Nice pics Doug.
Was the section you were off trail angled so much you slid or what caused it?

I was heading uphill on the shelf road towards the Great Western Mine while most of the rest of the group stayed down in the wash. I had just gone forward through a real narrow off camber section and I saw another one ahead of me. I decided again against going forward and started backing down. I literally backed right off the trail.

It was a great weekend. But my truck isn't in the group photo above. I want a full refund of all fees paid. Oh, wait, there were no fees....Nevermind.
That photo must have been taken Friday before dark. I didn't get there till well after dark. It was also before the great migration on Sat.
The food was awesome, and did I mention free? Can't wait till the next one. I don't think I got to meet you, Doug
