FishPOET-

Thank you for the invite, I'll confirm tonight but I am 99% sure I am in on this run. Because my mom lives about 24 mi. due south of Inscription Canyon in Hinkley I am familiar with the territory. Are you and your friends from East of Barstow, I ask because of the meeting place, it is 20 miles east of Hinkley. As much as I like Peggy Sue's I'll have to meet you somewhere closer to Hinkley.

Depending on who you are bringing along may I suggest an alternate route from Peggy Sue's? You can run dirt (nicely graded for the most part) from Peggy Sue's all the way to Inscription Canyon and make a very nice stop at Rainbow Basin if your schedule allows.

Either way I am looking forward to meeting you and exploring the area some more. It's too bad my mother does not have the doughboy pool set up yet, it's a nice respite after a day in the desert. :D

We are camping for the weekend in Mule Canyon in Calico. We are all meeting at Peggy Sue's for breakfast on Saturday morning and then splitting up into 4 groups for 4 different trail runs.

We need to be back at camp by 4pm or so and in my mind that dictated the "pavement route" to Hinkley. The goal is Black Canyon and Inscription Canyon and the rest are just graded dirt roads. I love Rainbow Basin but I don't think there will be enough time to make a stop and enjoy the beauty.

I completely understand. Please count me in for the meeting spot at Hinkley Middle School at 8:45AM. I'll be monitoring on the 2M.

Looks like I am out. My son has been added to an additional boat at San Diego Crew Classic this weekend so we will be heading south to support him and the team.

Check out some of the best rowing and best rowing coverage in the country live on the net over the weekend at: http://www.crewclassic.org/

Hope your trip goes well FishPOET. :D
