THIS RUN HAS BEEN CANCELLED

I think it's about time for a family trip. I'm planning a trip on the 14th of May with a few friends that will be a scenic easy trip focused on getting the family out of the house together on the trail. Nearly all the roads are easy gravel roads with frequent passes by restrooms and we plan on having lunch in Idyllwild at a local cafe that is a favorite of mine unless there are too many rigs to park in the small parking lot. I'll pack a lunch just in case too. Anyone is welcome. I am just hoping for good weather. The trails I am planning on running are some of the very first trails I took my son on when he was 3 years old. Bring your kids, grandkids, it doesn't matter.

Meeting Location:
SHELL GAS STATION
44462 State Highway 74
Hemet, CA 92544

M&G Time: 8:00 am
Departure Time: When we think all have arrived.
Simplex: 147.510
Repeaters:
Primary= Idyllwild 146.895- / PL:118.8
Secondary = Hemet 145.420- / PL: 88.5
CB Channel: 40

PM me if you want my cell number in case you can't reach me on a radio on your way in.

We'll be running Rouse Ridge Trail, Black Mountain Road, and Bee Canyon Road.

Ollie, I have placed this on my calander. Sounds like fun. Looking forward to taking the family on this. I may run it with the 4Runner. It is stock. If for some reason you think a stock rig should not hit these trails, let me know. Then again, I can put the car seat in the FJ.

Looking forward to the details.

Cheers, Steve

Steve - As I recall from last year, yor 4-Runne should be just fine. At the most we'e looking at some washed out dirt roads. 4WD will be nice but a good SUV should do the trick. I was considring drving my wifes 2004 4Runner Sport (2WD) but my rig actually has more stuff in it to entertain my kids.

Anyone is welcome on this trip. They just need to be prepared to handle some longer stops and go with the flow. :D

Sounds like a great day. I'm working in Toronto that week but get home that Friday and will definitely be in need of getting out. I seem to be living in an airplane these days. I'll run it by Bec but I've gone ahead and penciled it on the calendar

Thanks for the heads up. Unless my son in law has a family day at Fort Rucker, I plan on bringing my wife, daughter and grandson.

Cheers, Steve

This looks like fun Ollie. Wish I could make it, but with the wife going back to work I'm sure I'll have my hands full with our daughter that weekend.
