I picked up one of these from Expedition Outfitters -

They are pricey but I'm very impressed with the quality and stability of this chair. It also disassembles into a very small package.
Has anyone tried the leg extensions?

According to the web site the weight of the chair approximately 5.3 pounds.
It is definitely more stable than the cheap folding aluminum chairs. Keep in mind that this is a low chair. The seat is about 11 1/2" high. I find that the arms are plenty strong enough to brace yourself when getting up. I usually avoid using the arms on the cheap aluminum chairs since they feel very flimzy.
Another plus I like about this chair is that once assembled it folds flat like conventional folding chairs so you can carry it or tuck it away without disassembly.

I don't know if you've seen Larry before or not but if this chair is that low we'd never get him out of it. He'd be gnawing on his knees too. Larry looks down on most middle aged Redwood trees...

Not a chair for Larry...

They are nice chairs IMO. I have not seen anyone with the leg extensions, but hear they work well.

$130 for something I would throw in the back of the rig and beat the !@$% out of? Not for me- the Costco model works fine.
