Tracy wanted a weekend in Big Bear. IMO the North facing slope South of Big Bear Lake is AMAZING. Cool topography and geology around every corner. And the views aren't half bad either. Our plan was to spend most of the weekend in this area. We left Norco at 6:30pm on Friday night. Once up the hill we headed for YP30 only to find it occupied. We found a turnout about 1 mile away and stopped for the night.

Sunset. 1/4 mile walk from YP30 to this view. The road cut in the distance is the Arctic Circle section of Hwy 18.
