Recordings of the Thursday Net?

I recorded the July 3 Net using Echolink's built-in recorder for later playback.

So while listening to the playback it occurred to me that the wav files could be made available.

Thoughts?

Are you talking about recording the broadcasts so we can download them and listen to them on widely available media players such as Windows Media Player and Quicktime? Thats a brilliant idea if so. Im interested in knowing what HAM is all about, and i think listening to a couple of broadcasts would push me to become involved sooner.

We are doing just that. We expect to have them available in about a week.

The Nets have been recorded, and we are working on a way to make them available from the site. By the way, there is a poll on this topic on the home page (http://www.oausa.net) to gauge interest in this.

The recordings of the Thursday night net are online. You can reach them from the menu on the home page under "On-air Net Archive". It is not yet a podcast, but it makes the recordings accessible.

Hello all, Tom KN6KS here.

I wanted to thank whoever was responsible for recording and then posting the nets that I have missed (all of them until now ;-)

Question, will the nets continue to be recorded? And if so, will they continue to be posted? I found in quite convenient to be able to listen at my own pace (in between the interruptions of a two year old).

While I am on the subject, many thanks to DaveK for his very informative and well presented net about firearms. It is MUCH appreciated. (I'm sure there are other good ones, but this is the only one I have listened to thus far.)

Thanks
Tom - KN6KS

Yes, we will be posting every net on the web site. We are still working out the workflow from recording to processing to posting it on the web. Currently, the process is not automated, so it may take some time to get through the entire workflow. After the process is automated (as many parts as can be), the nets will show up on the web site on a regular basis.

As we get more nets posted on the site, only the most recent will be listed with the older nets available in an archive area grouped by categories.

Thanks for the reply. I know that it is probably a PITA, just wanted to let you know that I appreciate your efforts....And look forward to more.

I know this might be more of a PITA, but would it be possible to have the recordings as a downloadable file, such as .wav? Flash is nice, but for those of us in the backcountry, without high speed connections (read dialup :x ), being able to slowly download, then play back at real speed would be nice. If I play the flash file, it has to buffer every 5 seconds or so. Not real conducive to following along. Thanks,
