I finally figured out how to store my Max Traxs and a spine board in my truck. I was contemplating all sorts of elaborate storage options including swing away racks using the Max Trax mounting pins. No matter what I came up with, it seemed overly complicated and took up a lot of room.
One day, while I was working on something inside my truck's camper shell, I looked at the frame of the shell and remembered that I could get the same square tubing at Lowes for a somewhat reasonable price. The area that I used for the mounting was essentially unused space and it didn't lower the head room that much. I don't spend any time sleeping or sitting in the camper anyway, so it was a no brainer. And the best thing is, I still have room for another pair of Max Trax and can still gain access to the antenna feedpoints on the roof of the shell.
I tried it out at Borrego Fest 2013 and there was no damage to anything that I can see and its ease of access and use is pretty good. It may not be as elegant as others that I've seen, but the items are safe and secure inside the shell (out of sight, out of mind)
Sometimes the simplest answer is the best answer.
Here's the result.

I saw your set-up at Borrego Fest. Clever and a very good use of space.

Just make sure to remember which is which - I'd hate to be carried away on a Maxtrax
Seriously, though, nice job !!!

Thanks Larry. I was looking at the way you mounted your Traxs to try to come up with something either internally or externally on the camper doors, but I just couldn't make it work.
FYI, since you're so tall, we'd have to link at least 2 Max Traxs together.

Thanks.
Is the recovery the one in John's video?
Before you buy, check with Larry. Sometimes he holds a "club buy special".
