The trip itinerary has been finalized and there are some exciting changes to the trip. I have added two new locations to the original list - Hunt's Mesa and Canyon de Chelly. For those who were on the first Indian Country trip, you will remember these locations. The difference this time is that we will be able to see some incredible sights that we missed last time.

Pictures of the new locations will be at the end of this post. Here are details for the trip and the itinerary:

1. Dates - Monday May 26, 2014 through June 8, 2014.

2. Vehicle limit - 7

3. Vehicle requirements - high clearance 4 wheel drive. The trails will be easy to moderate.

4. Itinerary:

- Alstrom Point (Lake Powell)
- Water Holes Cyn
- Navajo Natl Monument (Keet Seel)
- Valley of the Gods
- Dark Canyon
- Beef Basin
- Fable Valley
- Natural Bridges National Monument
- Hunt’s Mesa
- Coal Mine Cyn
- Canyon de Chelly

NOTE: I have arranged for all of the camping and hiking permits for Indian land. The hiking and camping fees are very modest. We will require a Guide for a total of 3-4 days for the visit to Hunt's Mesa and Canyon de Chelly. Non Navajo may not travel beyond the main roads without a Navajo guide. I will post fees shortly.

Confirmed participants:

1. DaveK
2. Frank (Unwired Adventures)
3. Chazz (tentative)

New Additions

1.Canyon de Chelly. Although the First Indian Country trip included CDC, we were prevented from entering the canyon due to very high water levels. This year, the timing for the trip is almost two months later in the year and the river should not present a problem. Here are some pictures of the ride through the canyon.

2. Hunt's Mesa. On our first trip to Monument Valley, we had the luck to run into a huge sand storm on the day we had planned to visit and camp on Hunt's Mesa. Unfortunately, we never made camp. The views from on top of the Mesa are of Monument Valley and the vista is spectacular.
