One of the highlights of Borrego Fest has been the Saturday night potluck and Dutch Oven dinner. This is due in part to the huge turn out for the event, and the equally large number of people who volunteer to bring a variety of dishes. This year, should be no less impressive. We are asking for the cooperation of everyone attending to help make this potluck a success. If you are camping elsewhere, and would like to participate in the potluck, please let us know what dish you will be bringing. In addition, there is always a need for beverages, paper goods, utensils, firewood, etc.

In addition to the potluck, wine and beer tasting have become a popular part of the Saturday night potluck. So mention any spirits you might be bringing for others to sample as well. TomS and DaveK have some special wines and appetizers and a special guest wine expert who will join us on Saturday night.

We might even have a prize for the winner of the Dutch Oven Cook-Off.

I'm sure that there will be more people pleased by the poppy seed chicken than Tom, but if I were you, I'd keep an eye on him just to make sure that there is some left for others!!!

Pending nature's cooperation (they aren't quite ripe yet) I intend to make a batch of Ghost Pepper Cornbread, just look for the dish with the warning signs around it.
