We are planning a three or four day camping trip to the East Mojave Desert (within the Mojave National Preserve) for March 20-22, 2015. The itinerary is not final, but the locations we may visit include:

1. Kelso Depo
2. A hike to the Cinder Cones ( http://www.nps.gov/moja/planyourvisit/u ... LowRes.pdf )
3. The Mojave Lava Tube ( http://www.nps.gov/moja/planyourvisit/u ... LowRes.pdf )
4. A hike to one of the tallest peaks in the area - Table Top Mountain
5. The Amboy Crater ( http://www.blm.gov/ca/st/en/fo/needles/amboy.html )
6. Cow Cove

This time of the year, the weather will be cold and you should be well prepared. At least for the moment, we will limit the number of trucks to 6. Please post below if you are interested.

Unfortunately that is the weekend of Desert Rendezvous so I wont be able to make it. I will be keeping an eye out for the next trip though

No changes. Once we have all the participants identified, I will send out some information and coordinate the various things for the trip. Our departure time will be Friday morning, early (no later then 5:00AM). For those who may not be able to leave at that time, I will prepare a map of our camping location. If you have Ham radios, this will make things much easier, especially if we are helping people to find the camp. We'll tackle the comms thing in a couple of weeks.

I was already planning on going out somwhere that weekend so the timing works out well. Hopefully, I'll have the propane heater installed in the back of the Pinzgauer by that time so cold won't be a problem.
