I've been reading about some of the changes at Joshua Tree. Not sure what the extent of it is since the 2015 Superintendent's Compendium is fairly vague and doesn't provide a whole lot of information other than it restricts access to most of the cultural sites and limits exploration.

Here is a link to the 2015 Superintendent's Compendium. http://www.nps.gov/jotr/learn/news/josh ... endium.htm.

And here is an article by Jim Mattern (Death Valley Jim) on the Compendium. http://deathvalleyjim.com/2015/04/27/jo ... l-tourism/.

I'll let you read it, but maybe one last trip to Joshua Tree is in order before the effective date (I did not see an effective date listed).

I'd like to hear what Smith has to say . How does one access the Death Valley Jim show? We are not in the Palm Springs area and the "www.kptr1450.com." website won't work.

I just tried the radio station link and it work for me. I'm not sure what you were looking for on the station page.

Somehow I got on Jim's email distribution list that includes articles, and links to his weekly radio show. The link to Jim's web page is on the original post. There is a wealth of information there.

There might be more information later on Jim's web site or on the Dezert Magazine's web site in the future. Here is the link to Dezert Magazine. http://dezertmagazine.com. John from Desert Magazine co-hosts the radio program.

Hope this helps.
