Well it's time to start planning our annual Summer Fest and Field Day event. Please let us know if you plan on attending.

This will be a family event involving three days of camping in the mountains (elevation 7500 feet), an official ARRL Field Day competition, and one or more trail runs. We will also offer all levels of Amateur Radio license testing on Sunday.

There will be a pot luck and Dutch Oven cook-off on Saturday combined with wine and beer tasting.

For those who want to explore the area, there are hundreds of miles of off pavement trails, including some of the more challenging, (Miller Jeep Trail).

The camp site is accessible by 2WD and all vehicles are welcome.

I will be dropping in and out due to scheduling problems. We are extremely short at work and it is incredibly difficult to use our vacation time.

Welcome Hector.

I guess a little Summer fest/Field Day is better than none. Do you know which days/hours you will be there?

Summer Fest / Field Day Update

We're less than 3 weeks away and it's time to start getting our gear list out and see who can bring what. Here is my preliminary list of FD equip that we will need. If you can help, let us know.

Antenna masts
wire antennas (80, 40, 20 & 15) with connectors
power supplies
HF radios
lots of extension cords
tables
pop-ups
lap top computers for logging contacts
cheat sheets for making contacts
antenna analyzers
lots of co-ax with connectors
volunteers to man the different bands
volunteer (notamog) to produce some solar oven eats during the day
generators with gasoline
