Potluck Planning - 2015 Borrego Fest - Saturday Evening
Posted: Mon Sep 21, 2015 1:12 pm
One of the highlights of Borrego Fest has been the Saturday night potluck and Dutch Oven dinner. This is due in part to the huge turn out for the event, and the equally large number of people who volunteer to bring a variety of dishes. This year, should be no less impressive. We are asking for the cooperation of everyone attending to help make this potluck a success. If you are camping elsewhere, and would like to participate in the potluck, please let us know what dish you will be bringing. In addition, there is always a need for beverages, paper goods, utensils, firewood, etc.
In addition to the potluck, wine tasting has become a popular part of the Saturday night potluck. So mention any spirits you might be bringing for others to sample as well. TomS and DaveK have some special wines and appetizers and a special guest wine expert who will join us on Saturday night. If you have your favorite appetizers, let us know what you would like to bring!
Due to the enormous success of the way we held the potluck dinner last year, we will be following that model again this year. Specifically, the appetizer and wine tasting as well as the potluck dinner will take place at the campsite and will be essentially one affair. For those many who will be preparing a dish for the dinner, we will plan on starting the appetizer/wine tasting around 4:00PM and the dinner, around 6:30 (maybe 7:00PM).
