Well, the good times can still roll. The German designed steel gas cans, often referred to as "Jerry Cans" or a NATO Cans, are back on the shelves. It seems that our esteemed legislators deemed the original cans as evil and did their best to ban them - something to do with their failure to meet CARB standards, or something like that

Once again, ingenuity has triumphed and the Wavian cans are back in their ORIGINAL form. The infinitely wise CARB standards have been satisfied and you can still own the originals. The CARB standards were met with the advent of a new spout, which will also fit your older cans (we are told).

The Sportsman's Warehouse (including California) is selling the cans, with the CARB spout, for $80 each (http://www.sportsmanswarehouse.com/spor ... /cat101261 )

From the Sportsman's Warehouse website (note the newfangled spout!):

Agree that it looks like the nozzle will fit the old style Wedco jerry cans. Appears like the new nozzle had the push in mechanism to release fuel theoretically preventing spills and quickly closing to prevent fumes from escaping.
