Fire Protection Week is on until the 15th. It arose out of the Great Chicago Fire and became an Amateur Radio Special event a few years ago. The purpose is to promote fire safety. This years theme is " Don't wait check the date: replace your smoke alarms every 10 years". Smoke alarms are only good for 10 years from the date of manufacture. You can find the date of manufacture on the back. I am sponsoring N6F this year. There are a total of 11 station on and QSL cards and a certificate are available. You can find more info at hamfire.com. On Saturday we will be on from from two different fire station open houses. Hope to work you on the HF bands.
