It's time again for the largest annual on-the-air event in the country, the ARRL Field Day. Here is what the ARRL says:

Field Day is ham radio's open house. Every June, more than 40,000 hams throughout North America set up temporary transmitting stations in public places to demonstrate ham radio's science, skill and service to our communities and our nation. It combines public service, emergency preparedness, community outreach, and technical skills all in a single event. Field Day has been an annual event since 1933, and remains the most popular event in ham radio.

Outdoor Adventure USA has been doing a Field Day event for the last 8 years, but with a little different twist. True to our outdoor travels, we use the opportunity of summer to enjoy a three day weekend, to participate in the Field Day competition, to enjoy the cool comfort of the high mountains (7,500 feet), to camp among the pines, to enjoy great food and drink and to appreciate the camaraderie of good friends. SAM (Safe AttachMent ) Tool for the Hi-lift

This is a recent 3rd party accessory product for the Hi-lift jack. It does not yet have the test of time to determine if it is worth the extra space and weight to other alternatives. I was interested in testing it since so many new vehicles do not have an adequate and safe way to lift on the bumper with a Hi-lift but they do have recovery eyes. (It does not work on all shapes of recovery eyes.)
A safety feature of the SAM is that once the two pins are used to rig it to the recovery eye and the Hi-lift, the Hi-lift cannot slip off.

While we encourage all who can join us at our Field Day to do so, we understand that it may require more travel time than you have available.
