Last nights net dealt with camping or adventure destinations in the Southern California area. TomS and traveltoad (Aaron) were our contributors as we discussed Death Valley, Colorado River Lakes, Hungry Valley and the Sierras. The range of topics allowed us to cover destinations which are appropriate for travel both now and later in the year when the temps drop. Thanks to Tom and Aaron.
We had 30 check-ins and the net lasted about and hour and a half.

I am sorry that I could not help out more... all my maps are in the truck, which is (you guessed it) in the shop.

I hope whoever recorded the net last night was more successful than me. When I tried to play it back, I got nothing. Not sure what went wrong. I'll have to do some test recording before next Thursday.

Craig:
We did get the recording. It does take some practice to get it down. Keep trying because eventually we will need a backup.

A Land Rover in the shop ??? Say it isn't so !!! (I'm just kiddin' with ya...

)
I wish I could hear it live, but I just can't it the repeater reliably on my way home...
I'll have to figure out a way to be able to listen to the net...reception going north on the 405 / 5 freeways is awful, and I've tried both my mobile rigs (Yaesu FTM-10M / Yaesu ft-857) to see the difference, but none was apparent. I'll just have to move the freeway closer to the repeater...

Are you able to get the Big Bear repeater (147.330) when you are on that stretch of the freeway? I've heard some people on it that are somewhere in that area?
