Is it me, or is the weekly OAUSA net information missing from the home page ??

If so, shouldn't we have that listed and highlighted to attract additional participants ?

You're right. It is missing. I'll make the correction right away.

I see a blurb about the net on the home page, but not frequency / PL / repeater name is mentioned.

While we know where the net is held, somebody scanning through may not. I'd try to make the notice more prominent on the home page, and post all the pertinent info with it so no guess work is necessary for the folks who want to join in on the net...

Thanks

For now, I have posted it as the feature article so it is on center stage. I will be working on changing the style of the web site so it will be more flexible for us to make certain items stand out better and make the articles easier to find.

Does the announcement look good enough now?

Thanks for you observations. The more eyeballs, the better.

I'm not a ham yet but you can't miss the info now. Nice work.

Weekly Net

Don't miss the weekly OAUSA net on Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. PDT on the Keller Peak repeater, 146.385 recieve, 146.985 input, and a PL of 146.2.

Thanks, Ken, that's much better. Bigger and bolder will help it out, too, but I know that may involve more changes first. Now people will be able to hit the home page and know wher to "reach" us... Now if I could only make the repeater.... :o

What I would like to have is a glowing button type of announcement that the user could click on and display the complete details. As we add more repeaters, the announcement could take up more real estate on the page. Having a button (animated image that attracts their attention with something like "catch us on the air") will take up less room, but still give them the information they need.

What repeaters do you use in your area? We need to contact one that you like to try to link up with them.

While we are on the subject, is the OAUSA Net simulcast on the following repeaters?

146.385+ 146.2 Keller Peak
146.610- 103.5 Sierra Peak
445.760- 103.5 Sierra Peak
449.300- 100.0 Palomar

Honestly, I don't spent much time on the radio when I'm not directly involved with an event. The local Santa Clarita repeater we use is 146.790-, PL-123.0, std offset (.60Mhz), Santa Clarita Amateur Radio Club repeater.

I like the idea of an animated button: That will be awesome. Way beyond my non-computer, 2-dimensional thought process...
