GEAR AND SUPPLIES
This should be a very active subject.
1. FUEL
This wont be quite as bad as the Parashant, but you should have at least 4 Jerry cans, and possibly 5, depending on your mileage. Once we hit Beef Basin, it is a LOOOOONG way to the nearest gas station. Our last fuel stop will be Mexican Hat. We need to be prepared to travel around 450 miles between gas stops. There is one town that will provide earlier gas as we approach the Comb Ridge, but we will keep that in reserve.
PLEASE, have your fuel cans filled before you depart.
2. SHOWERS
If you have one, bring it.
3. ALTERNATE POWER
There will be no available hook-ups anywhere we camp. If you are running a refrigerator or using your Ham radio, best to have some alternate power, i.e. solar or wind.
4. KITCHEN
I will assume that everyone has their own, but we need to make sure, so we can supplement for anything we may lack.
5. WATER
We can resupply (I think) in Mexican Hat, but there will still be at least 7-8 days for which we must bring sufficient water. Depending on your shower needs, I recommend 20 gallons.
PLEASE, have your water cans filled before you depart.
6. TABLES
One table each should do.
7. LIGHT
Everyone, please bring one lantern. I prefer and recommend a Coleman, but a good LED will suffice.
8. FIREWOOD
We will need to have everyone bring some firewood.
9. PERSONAL STUFF
toilet
personal hygiene stuff
medications
10 FIRST AID KITS
Everyone needs to carry a decent first aid kit, and its contents need to be up to date. By that, I mean that the stuff in your kit should not have passed its expiration date. So, now is the time to acquire a decent FAK or make sure the one you have is current.
11. AUTO CLUB TOWING
The auto club offers a premium plan that provides for 200 miles of towing. The cost of one long tow will exceed (by many times) the cost of this plan. Keep in mind that we will be a long way from repair facilities, should you need them!!!
