Hey all,

I was going to PM Ken (ki6kui) about this, but im not able to send him PM's. This is just a suggestion for a site logo, and placement of it, not a demand.

What do you all think about docking the site logo up top, right in the center? For example:

Am I missing something, or is the logo just a black box?

(I turned off my PM because I was getting everything whether it applied to me or not.)

The black box is where the logo would go.

It would depend on the logo - a round / oval / square logo would look disproportionate in that space; Maybe a small version on the side, with the current name info move to the center / right, and the motto, once decided, underneath...

I was thinking that too, but if it was done like that, there would be quite a bit of unused space on the left and right of the logo/banner. I think communities work better when its compact and easy to navigate, just my $.02 :D

Don't worry about the empty space. We'll find something to fill it! ;)

For many reasons, not the least of which is copyright / trademark protection, you have to be very careful when you change the proportional dimensions of a logo - so stretching it to fit would be a no-no, for example.

Theres a lot of ways to make a banner fluid.

Seeing this reminds me... some pix are running off the right hand side and there's no horizontal scroller to see the whole thing. This post is an example of that.
