8/2/08 we paid 3.96 at costco/scripps poway pkwy/san diego (cheap stuff) LIFE IS GOOD.

should we place bets on how long it will stay under $4?
this could be an interesting thread to find out what other folks are paying in other parts of the state/country.

Ive been staying home a whole lot. On Monday, i payed $4.08 for gas in Downey. Pretty sad, but it felt great! Ive been off the road so much, i still have over 3/4 tank in the Expedition from that fill up alone.

Historically, gas prices rise dramatically in the spring prior to an election, and gradually drop as we get closer to November - So it would not surprise me to see gas prices continue a slow downward price trend through election day. Still, they never go down quite as far as they went up (and it's spread over a longer time period).
It is interesting to see how fuel prices vary across the country - and amazing how So Cal, where crude is delivered to the port, and refined locally, is still higher than remote areas of the country...
