Ron here, QTH is Woodside CA at 1,800', on the NE side
of the Santa Cruz mountains overlooking San Mateo Bridge.
Call sign is KO0Q, and I do get some phonetic pun's tossed my way :D
Good line-of-sight to Napa, Vacaville, Sac, Auburn, Mt. Diablo repeaters.

I have been meaning to join this Forum for years, but...one
distraction after another ... though better late than never.

I enjoy overland, or at least hopping from one campsite to another.
Not too keen on pure rock crawling, but I have had my obstacle
challenges from time to time.

Rigs are Pinzgauer's (Bruce now won't be alone), one 4x4 710K Radio
truck and another 6x6 712M troop carrier -- long story there. Both
are fitted up with solar, 12V LiFePO4 Aux power, Fridge, Nav,
Comms; hf, VHF/UHF and Winlink capable.

Listened in on the Net this past Thursday via Echolink. Really enjoyed
the discussions and info that was shared.

Looking forward to getting more involved.

cheers

ron // KO0Q

Ron

Welcome to Outdoor Adventure USA!!!!

I know that it would be quite a ride for you from Nor Cal to make our Borrego Fest, but IF you happen top be in the neighborhood, please come by and join us for a while.

We are very pleased that you are enjoying the nets, and if you find a repeater(s) in your area that is IRLP equipped, or who would be willing to become so, we can work with them to carry our nets.

Ron's 710K (radio truck) is the nicest one I've ever seen. He didn't mention that it's air conditioned and has extensive sound proofing. Although sound proofing in a Pinzgauer is relative, sort of like saying something is bear proof. Sound resistant may be a better term :D .

I haven't seen the 712M (6x6) in person yet but I'm sure it's pretty nice.

Bruce (and Ron too)

Sounds like Ron needs to drive both vehicles to Borrego Fest!!!

Bruce's rig is a mighty fine 710M. He's put a fair amount of work and
investment into that truck. Engine upgrades and armoring. We are
but a small handful of Pinz'ies at Mogfest and tend to fell small but
mighty around those trucks :D

Funny, I have A/C and have used it once or twice. Nothing like
popping the door haves out when your on the trial.

Catch up with you on the Net tonight.

P.S. Avatar is the nose of the restored 712M -- long story there.
