Anyone have any recommendations on active repeaters here behind the Orange Curtain?

Here's a link to a good list of repeaters in So Cal:

I actually find that I can reliably get Keller Peak from most places in OC. I also have the Fullerton Hills (N6ME, 145.4 - PL 103.5) and Santiago Peak (N6EW, 146.925 - PL 114.8) repeaters programmed in my radio, but they don't seem to be anywhere near as active as Keller.

Thanks - that color coded list is the official list from TASMA - the SoCal repeater coordination group. That's what I've used already to load up all the open repeaters in SoCal.
I'll check out the ones you've listed. Good to know you can pick up Keller in OC. It's a long way out there. Can you hit it too? I'm just running a Yaesu FT-8800 with a small Comet SBB1 antenna out of my Landcruiser.
List has one in Laguna Niguel and Laguna Beach, but the couple of times I've CQ'ed on those repeaters, nobody has been there. I know CLARA is active, but private.

Brent, I'm running the same setup and I can receive / transmit to the nets very well from way down in San Diego.
As a matter of fact, once it cools down (later in the evening) I can hit it with my 5W HT. I have been very impressed with the Keller repeater coverage.

Yes, I seem to be able to hit Keller anywhere from the Irvine/Tustin area all the way up into north OC. I'm using a Kenwood TM-V71A (similar radio to the FT-8800) with a Comet CSB-750A (more gain than with your SBB-1). I've listened to people getting into Keller from downtown LA, but I'm not sure what they were running.

Is CLARA worth joining?
Just scanning 144-148, there seems to be more activity and chatter there than any other repeater or channel I can pick up in OC. I've got one side set on the FAMCOM repeater and scanning in the other band and get way more activity on CLARA.

Thanks Ken - I'll check it out. Unfortunately, I'm not in my truck too often (where I have the radio installed) since it's no longer my commuter and need to save pennies...lots of pennies to put a second radio in my Miata.
