My mother is coming out from Nebraska to spend Christmas with me. She LOVES the outdoors and wants to see more of the CA desert. Last time she was here she saw Coyote Canyon. I want to give her a general tour of Anza Borrego State Park. Anyone wanting to join us is welcome. All trails will be mild to moderate. Not sure on the route yet but will know more as we get closer. This will also be my sons Maiden Anza Borrego voyage. :D

Please note that this run has been changed from Sunday the 21st to Saturday the 20th. That way some of you that can't run Sundays and have to work Monday can join the fun.

I'm currently scheduled to be in the Solana Beach residence that part of 'winter break'. If so, I'd like to hook up with the SD contingent in AB.........(will let you know as it gets closer)

That's my birthday, but I don't think I will be able to make it. I will have to do the 'family thing' that day. If it changes, I will let you know.

Hey, I was wondering if you were considering heading around the Painted Gorge / Carrizo Mountain area on your tour. This is the last month it'll be open until June and I believe there are a few more trails we haven't been on. If you did, we'd probably want to start our trip on the northern part of Anza Borrego and work our way down south. Just wanted to throw that out there for ya. This will probably be my only outting this month if I'm gonna make the Mojave Road in January.

I'm also thinking about just setting up camp around where ever the run ends and then head back into town on Sunday. :D

That is actually kind of the plan. I have a friend from work that has a Suzuki Samuri. He tows it to the trailhead then hooks up again at the end of the day. My plan as of now is to meet in Ocotillo then head out from there and do the loop. S-2 to Canyon Sin Nombre - Arroyo Tapiado (Mud Caves)- Arroyo Seco Del Diablo - Fish Creek - Split Mountain - then across to Painted Gorge. Those coming in from the north can meet us at a designated time at the Canyon Sin Nombre entrance. We will want to get started fairly early due to the early sunsets. I will post times, meeting locations, and frequencies in the next couple of days.
