Friday night I headed on out with my brother-in-law and a friend to camp and explore a bit of Superstition Mountain. I've only been there once before at night, so this was a real treat for me to explore a new area. The other guys brought out their dirt bikes to get crazy on some jumps, while I cruised the easy rolling sand dunes in my comfy Jeep. This area would make a good place for an event, with the large flat area suited to trailers, rv's, tents, etc. I just got a taste of the area, as I had to be back home saturday night. Stupid me forgot the camera on our big run on out to Sand Damn Canyon an surrounding areas. The wind picked up at times but was just fine when we were out on the trails. I really need to get the frame for my soft top. It was cold on the way home!

My buddy's truck. We were giving him a hard time for those rims!

I hear the back side of Superstiion is more gears for 4WD exploring and adventure. I have some co-workers that are out there nearly every weekend during the desert season.

Oh yeah, I know a few folks who do the same. What struck me about this area was how varied the terrain was. You got compact dirt, sand dunes, rocks, mud hills, canyons and notches all in the same area. I gotta get out there again.
