Sorry to hear about Dave's dilemma, I thought it might be a bit dicey heading out there with the weather that was predicted for today. I don't think it's a good idea to send anyone out there to try and free the truck tonight. The weather is predicted to be clear tomorrow and it sounds like they have a room and will be safe tonight. I live in Costa Mesa, if Dave can't find someone to tug him out in the morning I'll see about driving out there.

I called and spoke to Dave,

He and his 5 year old are safe and in a hotel room.

He stopped to help a family with a 9 month old, and a burned out clutch. As they waited, a large amount of snow fell and they ended up snowbound. They tried digging out but the amount of snow was too much.

Dave, his friend and child were able to get a ride back to town. He needs to get his child home and He still needs help in going to retrieve his truck.

Weather is expected to clear up tonight and tomorrow and He asked to keep him informed on weather and road conditions.

Again priority is to get his son home and second is to recover his expedition.

Scott,

I guess I was typing as you submitted your post. He has not yet gotten anyone to acomplish anything yet.

I know I would not be able to do anything tonight, I am certain that he is not expecting anything tonight other than perhaps ride home, more for mom's peace of mind.

He is in victorville tonight, but earlier reports were Cajon pass was closed. I still need to check current conditions on that.

Thanks, I am sure he appreciates your willingness to help.

Sounds good, I'm not sure why the concern for the child unless he is without some type of medication? Most kids this age would love to be stuck overnight in a motel. :D I'm going to PM McRover, they live somewhere near Silverwood I think.

Sent PM's to McRover and Mc Jeep. We'll see if anything evolves.

Thanks Scott,

I have an ability to see things from different points of view.

I am certain his concern is in Mom's peace of mind. While a 5 year old is enjoying big boy time with dad, . . . mom is probably seriously concerned with her precious baby boy.

I am certain we are all glad they are safe.

Understood, just to clarify they are safely in a motel room correct? This isn't the Bates Motel is it? Kidding aside I Google Earthed the 3N21 and have an idea where he maybe stuck. If McRover and McJeep don't respond I've been in touch with DaveK and will see what we can do. In the mean time I'll call BigDave and see if he has the exact coords of the rig. My cell is 949 235-1494.
