Re: Optima Yellow, Red or Blue Top
You are correct that the red top has more CCAs ("rush" current). But, if you are getting a voltage drop in the system when it is running, it is not likely the battery at fault - it acts as a capacitor once the vehicle is running, and if it's charged, has no effect. Of course, if the battery is bad ...

Re: Optima Yellow, Red or Blue Top
Part of the reason i wanted the red top is for more "rush" current. On my mustang i was getting a voltage drop while at full throttle and I'm hoping that the drop will be less with this battery. While it may be better to test the battery, my "feeling" has worked well. When i hear the starter go a ...

Re: Optima Yellow, Red or Blue Top
What is a good way to determine if my Yellow Top is reaching end of life? When the battery doesn't seem to hold the charge like it used to, then its toast. I replaced my yellow top with a red top yesterday (in my mustang, not jeep). I killed my yellow top by letting it get super dead at least 5 ...

Re: Ultragauge OBD II Scanner
How did they determine that it was not as accurate as the scan gauge? Its not like you can use them at the same time. The refresh rate is slightly slower than the SG, but the SG is pretty slow too. Either way its still a great tool to throw in the vehicle to be able to pull codes or see whats going ...

Re: Ultragauge OBD II Scanner
Its pretty cool. It takes a bit longer than others that i have on startup, and its not as customizable as the scan gauge. The buttons are on the back so surface mounting in not really an option. For the money its pretty cool.
