New member check in

Post by RedDavid » Wed Jan 21, 2009 12:39 am

Hello. Found out about you guys from kpra.net repeater website. I just got my ticket last week and am slowly figuring out how this, new to me, technology works. I've had my jeep for a couple years now and enjoy just getting away from the crowds. Going to try and make the NET this Thursday. Looking forward to meeting more people in the Offroad and HAM communities.

Hi RedDave, Congradulations on getting your ham ticket! Welcome to the forum and the net. We are happy to have you aboard. Out topic this week on the net is map & compass. You will find a lot of information on the site to help you enjoy both the JK and your ham radio.
See you on the Trail!

I do anything I can to get away from the Burbs.. Run down to San Felipe with the Jeep, take the Lance camper in the mountains or beach. Basically anything to get me away from the house either with or without the Jeep. Fortunately the wife doesn't like tent camping (nor do I) so If i can't take the Lance it will be a day trip. For day trippen I'll pretty much go anywhere to get away from the house but, I prefer not to do damage to the jeep :).

Don't get me wrong I like my house but I like the outdoors better.

Don't have an HT yet. Only the Icom 208H in the Jeep. But, I may be able to jump in via EchoLink. Depends on the network guys allowing those ports.
