How were the winds? There were certainly a couple of times on our run that I could have done with a little less wind but it wasn't much of a distraction other than the first night (2nd for John and me).
We had some wind but nothing to bad. Friday night at Mid Hills we were at approx 5700ft. and it was wet and cold but we stayed somewhat warm around the fire. I agree Winter/Spring camping especially in the Mojave is the best. It seems like this is going to a good year for desert blossoms!

Thanks for setting up this most memorable trip Scott and thanks to everyone who attended. I will be telling my grandchildren about this one. The weather made for some of the most beautiful views I can remember. I got back and work has been a friggin' nightmare. I am processing pics and will get them posted here shortly.

I'm so glad I was able to join this expedition. Man the Mojave Preserve is incredible! What a beautiful place we have right here in our own backyards. I plan to do that again for sure. Ya, I froze my arse off both nights, but it was worth it. Ya, Rojo decided to break the LCD screen on my lap top. It was still worth it. Ya, I woke up flat on my back on the cold ground when my air mattress decided to fail unexpectedly. You know, it was worth it! What a fun time. Ty all.

Here are some pics...

Hey thanks Braden, I can just imagine what you could have done out there. The colors and clarity were outstanding. I think Ollie's pictures will be amazing if he ever posts them. He took quite a few night shots at Beale Mt., I'm really looking forward to seeing them.

That looks like a great trip. I still haven't done the trail and really want to. I'm interested in the next outing when you're ready to go back :)
