So far I have two Firemouths, a Convict and Jewel cichlids, as well as a pleco. Since these little guys will be getting a bit bigger I'm not sure if I'll add anything else.

Many people are often impatient to acquire their first fish. Introducing stock in haste, however, can cause problems, since a tank that has not stabilized may not support life. A newly installed aquarium cannot sustain fish until it has an established nitrogen cycle. During the first 10 days, the concentration of ammonia in the water may be lethal to any introduced fish. Then as ammonia levels drop, toxic nitrites increase, peaking 29 days after the tank's installation. Over the next 7 days, these nitrites are rapidly converted into harmless nitrates. Only now, 36 days from setting up a tank, do you have a well-balanced aquarium. Hope that helps in any future fish keeping attempts.BoBoNel wrote:i have no luck with aquariums....someday i want to set up a nice one...take care of it properly...and actually let the fish survive.
but first i want to set up a tank with some tropical colorful mini froggys....they are so cool.
