Yes, I do believe that it's about time for a camping trip. Headin' on out to the river this weekend for campin', fishin', froadin' and shootin'! Going to head on out friday evening after work, hopfully around 6 or 7pm. If anyone cares to join me just post up and we'll figure out where to meet and such. If ya want to fish, be sure your license has the Colorado River Stamp on it. I still need to go out and buy mine! You are also allowed to target shoot out in the washes as it's BLM land. Heading on out of San Diego, you take Interstate 8 east to the Winterhaven/4th Ave exit, just outside Yuma and then it's about a half hour to the lake. I plan on returning home sunday afternoon. For those with GPS here is where I'll be camping. N32 58.14 W114 29.81
There area quite a few spots along the lake to camp at as well as a private cabin that I can use if this spot is taken. You can't get lost. One way in one way out. Maybe we can make some new trails through a few rocky washes as well. We got bass, catfish, stripers, bluegill and crappie out there. I bring chicken livers and mackerel for bait. Its primitive camping so bring what ya need as well as some firewood.
Oh yes, I can see myself there now... kickin' back under the stars... next to a fire with a drink in one hand and a rod in the other!
