Sunnygrill (Nikos) invited me to join him with the Myjeeprocks event that weekend...so we'll both be out there too - from Fri night (late) to Sunday afternoon. He'll be bringing his trailer, so we'll be setting up a base camp somewhere as of yet undetermined. We'll have to get comms info set up, so that we can meet up with each other out there...

I'm in for Saturday and Sunday. I can get there as early Sat as need be.

NotaMog suggested we meet at Camp Rock. I guess this depends partly on where Larry and SunnyGrill will be camping. Does anyone have GPS coordinates for Camp Rock?

As for comms, should we use 146.385 for ham, and channel 14 for CB? Ham experts, please offer better choices if mine is not adequate.

WooHoo - time to get dirty! :D :D :D

According to DeLorme it's at N 34 56.399, W 116 50.357. You can't miss it if you drive up Mule Canyon Road off of Calico Road. About a mile after you enter the canyon you'll reach an area where it opens up. Camp Rock will be in front of you. There are some signs explaining the history and geology of the area on the left.

I hope to be able to make it out there. I should have my truck back from the fabricator this weekend and I want to take it out before the Parashant trip to see how the new rack and bumper hold up.

I editted the first post with comms plan. I think a 9:00 am hit the trail time might be good.
