Anza Borrego Pinyon Mountain Squeeze Question

A group of us are planning on doing the Pinyon Mountain trip in the near future and the question came up if there is a by pass for the squeeze or is it the only way through. The map does not show much and I'm guessing there is not but I know someone here has the answer.

There is no bypass. Running West to East, you must go through the squeeze then down heart-attack hill. Once down the hill, there is another half-mile or so of semi-rough trail before it smooths out.

Thanks for the info. We decided to take another trail. Some of us are not that experienced and have decided to wait until we have more experience under our belts.
