There were flowers everywhere. I've never seen it so green out there.

Looks like a most interesting time. I am going to have to bring the FJ back from Havasu to wheel with you all again. As I was coming home from Havasu yesterday, I saw many Jeeps and Gone to Surf on the 15. I honked at Scott a couple of times, but I don't think he saw me, from just before Victorville until he got off on the 138. Then again I was driving the SRT8. I was a bit lower then he was.

Sorry for not recognizing you. I was preoccupied with finding some side roads to explore. On the way home from Calico I drove old Hwy 58 to Hinkley and explored the river beds out there. The flowers were incredible. After picking up my wife in Hinkley we took old Route 66 towards Victorville stopping at an old antique store, a bar and the bottle house (pics to come). On the way down the Cajon pass we exited the 138 and explored more side roads and the river bed before getting back on the 15 for home.

What is it with Calico??? Everytime we take a group out there someone gets munched big time.... What kind of repair did you guys end up doing to get Nikos out of there?

Next time I will send a couple of rounds over your hood.
There's a funny story that goes with the above. I'll tell it to you over a campfire some night.

What is it with Calico??? Everytime we take a group out there someone gets munched big time.... What kind of repair did you guys end up doing to get Nikos out of there?

Sunnygrill and cmjrfan8 went back to the MJR camp and picked up ball joints and a ball joint press, an axle, and friends to do the install. Having the press was necessary, but without even a fingernail full of grease, pushing them in was difficult and by far took the most time. With those parts he was basically fully repaired when he drove out. (Guys, feel free to add anything I forgot.)

In addition to that, Gerald from MJR came down GateKeeper Friday with trouble but no broken parts. He decided to turn around and go up and promptly broke and axle. He said this was the third axle he's shreaded in Calico.

The whole time this was going on we had a small fire and tried to keep warm during the 35 mph winds. After we got Nikos off the mountain Jon and Eric decide to leave for home. Niko , Braden, Larry and I headed back to Odessa and set up camp at 2:00AM. It was a long night!
