Hello all, new member joining in

Post by nwoods » Mon Apr 06, 2009 10:37 pm

Thanks to BorregoWrangler for pointing me to this site. I am a fairly new, and inexperienced HAM operator (Technician). I have a Jeep and a Land Rover, and both see frequent off road use. I am trail leader with SCLR.org, and attempt to use what I dub the infernal machine, my Icom 208H 2m/440 radio. I shoot a lot of photos and post them here: http://nwoods.smugmug.com/, and maintain a blog that is primarily related to Land Rover LR3 related activities and tips and so forth: www.nextstepdesigns.com

I frequent MyJeepRocks and Expedition Portal forums, and various others.

GLad to have you aboard. Would love to see you out on the trail with us some time. Where did BorregoWrangler stumble up you? Or did you stumble upon him?

Thanks guys! There's a ton of stuff to read on this forum, and it will take me a while to sort it out and read through. I just thought it was very cool to see a HAM-centric off road group in my local area. I also thought it was interesting to see so much of Tom Severin's writings posted about. He was my TreadLightly trainer and is a very cool guy.

I "met" BorregoWrangler" online at MJR's forum. Have not met him in person, but hope to, as I would like to explore more of the AB area soon.

Good to see ya here! Be sure to keep an eye on any upcoming runs. There's quite a few folks here who enjoy heading on out to Anza Borrego on regular basis. I'll be out in Ocotillo Wells OHV Area from the 17-19th this month. If you'd like to hit up any AB trails then just let me know.

We are also fortunate to have Tom as a member of the Board of Directors for OAUSA, so his influence and expertise can be found throughout the site... :D
