SummerFest 2009 Rocks and Expedition Run - Saturday
SummerFest 2009 Rocks and Expedition Run - Saturday
This run was proposed by SSC in the "Fun Run 1" thread. I thought I'd give it it's own thread so we can flesh out the details here (start time, comms, sign-ups).
This will be a great run in that it's got some great trails and should skirt the Inland Empire 4 Wheeler's traffic, except maybe driving to the first trail head, depending on when we leave.
A run to Jacoby (3N61 North West of Baldwin Lake - moderate to difficult) and then to Heartbreak (2N02 - via 3N03 near the end of Jacoby - or 2N2 from the center of the East side of Baldwin Lake - moderate to difficult) , make our way down to Pioneer Town (off the 247 and the 62) then up Rattlesnake (2N62Y in the same area as Heartbreak) and back to Big Bear. It would be a long day, but great sites and good wheeling. Might work with a small group.
Start Time: 9AM Meet at: Intersection of Van Dusen Canyon Road and 3N16 (see page 2 of this thread for maps and coordinates)
Comms:
CB Channel: 14 (no IE4W runs are scheduled to use this channel)
2M Simplex: 147.510
Primary Repeater: 1. Keller Peak 146.385 + 146.2
Signed on for this run:
1) SSC
2) BruisedFJ
3) Gon2Srf
4) NotaMog
5) SDNative
6) StevesKJ
7) CruiserLarry

I am up for whatever everyone else wants to do. It looks like a small group so I cant imagine there will be multiple runs planned.
Just call it and we'll be there.

Re: SummerFest 2009 Rocks and Expedition Run - Saturday
I'm planning on heading up there on Friday night, so count me in for this run as well.
Sounds like a lot of fun, and the south side of BB lake is an area I haven't explored much before.

Scott, did you want each trailhead, or the first one we hit (south end of Jacoby)? Or the camp site?gon2srf wrote:I'm in. Could you post trailhead coordinates please.
