I have my beacon interval set to two minutes, so that shouldn't a problem. I think my path may be different. I am using Wide1-1, Wide2-1. Maybe I wasn't making it to an igate. I was using low-medium power, so I think that is 20W on the FT-8800? Were you running high power?
I'm sorry, I didn't hear your call. I usually monitor Otay and Palomar on the way home from work, around 4:30 - 5:00 or so.
Maybe we can get together before BorregoFest and get the APRS dialed in and do a shakedown run.

DaveK and I found that Wide 2-2 worked out. I was broadcasting at high power and Dave and i were able to tesxt back and forth a little bit. I even got a text from Hector while I was near the bombing range coming south along the tracks.

We should come up with a name for that crazy trail we were on. How about Cliffhanger?
