2009-07-23: Momollie Cleghorn to Arrowhead Village Run

Post by OLLIE » Fri Jul 10, 2009 7:31 pm

My mom is coming out from Nebraska the week of the 19th. Every time she comes out she has to go offroading... :D She absolutely loves it and the outdoors in general. I take her a different place every time. This year I want to take her through Cleghorn - Pilot Rock - Willow Creek Road and finish our day in Arrowhead Village. We have to do the run on a week day. She arrives on a Sunday night and leaves very early the following Sunday morning. We welcome anyone that can make it to join us. A lot of you know her already and she is fond of all of you. THis will be an all day run. THere will be several places where people can break away from the group. This run is great because nearly every obstacle has a bypass. Here's the tentative plan...

Meet & Greet:
McDonalds
3091-3293 Wagon Train Rd
San Bernardino, CA 92407
GPS: 34.309156,-117.470337
(This McDonalds is located on the East Side of I-15 at the intersection of I-15 and the highway 138.)

Meeting TIme: 9:00 am
Head to trail head: 9:30 am

Communications:
CB Channel: 34
2M Simplex: 147.510
2M Repeater: Keller Peak (146.385+ PL: 146.2)

Good to hear Bobo. Hope you canmake it. We can probably find a place to meet (like the gas station in Escondido) to caravan up.

Bobo (or any San Diegans),

We should be passing through Escondido where the 15 meets the 78 around 7:30am. If you don't want to catch us on the fly you we can meet you at the Shell gas station on the east side of the 15 at the El Norte exit (1 exit north of the 78). The Shell is east of the 15 and north of El Norte. When you get off the 15 you will see it pretty much right in front of you.

I'm mad at myself but its all good...i need the extra money anyways.
