I know this is Larry's thread but I have to throw my $.02 in here. Yesterday I had a chance to try these tires out blasting deep and loose sandy washes, climbing fairly steep shailly (sp? -loose rock) slopes, and driving along tight loose shelf roads. I was aired down to 20 psi and these tires did not disappoint. They performed flawlessly.
I am running Cleghorn to Arrowhead Village this coming Thursday (7/23/09). I look forward to seeing how they perform on the, primarily, hard-packed dirt. I'll let you know.

I had a chance to try these tires out on the dirt and rock of Cleghorn and Pilot Rock yesterday. I can't say enough about how these tires are performing. I had them aired down to 18 psi. It seemed to be about perfect. The guys that were running with me did mention that the road noise when I pass them is quite loud. There was no mistaking that I was coming around them. The footprint from these tires are unmistakable in the dirt. They resemble dozer tracks.

Nitto Mud Grapplers don't need no stinkin' roads...BorregoWrangler wrote:You even get road noise from those tires when you're off the road!OLLIE wrote:The guys that were running with me did mention that the road noise when I pass them is quite loud.

I've actually like the noise my Nitto MGs make - drove in a customer's FJ yesterday and it sounded, well, just too quiet...

Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear really bright, until they start talking

You got that right!

Re: Nitto Mud Grappler Tires
That's right...
I forgot about that John. We were getting road noise when blasting through the sand in AB the other day.
