That's debatable...

There is a point to sdnatives comments... I think adventure/expedition vehicles are historically Range Rovers, Land Cruisers, or something there of...

Maybe it's a good idea to use a logo like hmfigueroa has came up with to avoid scaring vehicle/adventure types away. It keeps things generic.

Instead of the radio tower being placed at the top can it start at the bottom and "weave" it's way to the top?

Also... maybe a map of the US? It is... after all... OAUSA... not OACALIFORNIA

Im 600 miles from the comfort of my home, so i drew my idea on paper the best i could. All of the text needs alignment, and there can be various color schemes. I couldnt draw the Jeep as i picture it. Heres my hand drawn, half assed, excuse of a logo.

The drawing maybe a bit crude, but I like the direction. I think it's important to include off-road into the logo. While off-roading may not be the primary focus of the entire site, the for majority of the membership, at least initially, it will be.

I'm just pulling your chain. It's true that in the USA, most folks associate jeeps with off-road. But that's not true overseas!

To build on mfigueroa's idea... how about this??? We would like to incorporate our motto in it once we vote on that as well.

Yea, I'm not sure I like the Republic of Kalifornia idea. Maybe a world globe with a big radio tower or two, and an adventure vehicle coming up over the top (sorry, I dont have the skills nor the the desire to draw a picture, but I can do a google image search )

I guess people did not like my California Idea, so here is what I came up with. These are draft comps and have not been finalized for details / alignment I can envision the USA in a straight line. The angle works with my original California Style not so much with the US Style. I have not included RF emissions nor compass headings. Perhaps we can guide this into something good.

Antenna Tower This is more of an "Amateur Radio" Style Tower instead of the oil derrick / power tower style.

Well these are my ideas based on input recieved. If I am given more constructive direction I am certain we can get something nice together. All of this is my original artwork so we will not run into copyright issues with using downloaded images.

What about starting with a globe (earth) centered on the US with a small(ish) radio tower placed on the western side of the US (California) with a compas rose around the perimeter and your OAUSA lettering.

Hmmm.... now that I have spelled it all out... maybe it would be too busy.

Love the USA Map version a lot! Nice work. Can you insert an off road vehicle and antennae somewhere?
