Mountains: Altitude 14,000-5,000 ft / Temp -20 F to +70F / Rain 4-70 inches
Some Mountain Plants: Jeffry Pine, Aspen, Dwarf Willow
Some Moutain Animals: Pika, Marmont, Great Horned Owl, Alpine Chipmunk.

Coastal Range: Altitude 0-3,000 ft / Temp 30-80 F / Rain 70-1000 inches.
Some Plants: Redwoods, Hemlock, Cedars, Madrone Oaks,
Some Animals: Deer, Bear, Farell Pigs, Boar, Banana slug.

Grasslands-Coastal Valleys: Altitude 10-5,000ft /Temp 10-90F / Rain 10-20 inches.
Some Plants: Natural pasture and grasses, Sage brush.
Some Animals: Various birds, Deer, Elk. Bear.

Upper-Lower Desert:
Altitude 500-5,000 ft / Temp -5 to 120 F / Rain 5-9 inches.
Some Plants: Joshua tree, Creosote bush, Sage, Various flowers.
Some Animals: Various birds, Javhlina pig, repitles, Desert sheep, Cyotes.

Many thanks to Dave KG6GIA for a very interesting net on life zones from about 14,000 feet down to sea level (as the title implys). We had 38 check ins and the net went 2 hours.
