Help stop the Red Rock Wilderness Act.
"On October 1st a subcommittee in the House of Representatives will be meeting to consider the Red Rock Wilderness Act of 2009. This Act would designate much of Utah as "wilderness" and as such forever prevent you, your family, your friends.... flat out everyone, from ever wheeling there again. For example this act would prohibit wheeling in Moab.
I have traveled from my home here in Massachusetts all they way to Colorado and then on to Moab for the express purpose of wheeling. If you ever have the opportunity to wheel in Utah you will be amazed, it is so different from wheeling here in New England that you could just as well be wheeling on the moon. It is an adventure like none other. Given the opportunity, I WILL be going again.
Please Click This Linkand take a few moments to complete the form requesting your state representative oppose H.R. 1925. It is VERY EASY to do and almost completely automatic. hot tar water, even a caveman could do it! (sorry Geico )
Thank you for taking the time to do this. This bill would steal from you access to an area that is amazing. It is a gift to all of us and we need to fight to preserve it. Even if you yourself never go out west to wheel perhaps your children will. Help preserve their access.
Thank you,
Robert Sutter (Ipe)
President

Moab is a trip i've never made but is on the long range vacation list.
Please help spread the word. This needs to be stopped.

Re: Help stop the Red Rock Wilderness Act.
After reading the entire bill, I want to vomit. I am so sick of those Bastards closing off every piece of public land they can get their hands on! The green idiots have to be stopped!
My major bitch with all of this "Wilderness" Nonsense is, by designating an area "Wilderness" they are shutting out the elderly, handicapped, etc. The ONLY way to explore a "Wilderness" area is on foot or horseback. Period. Not even bicycles are allowed. These jerks don't even consider all the disabled that will no longer be able to enjoy THEIR PUBLIC LANDS.
Free country my rear end, everytime more and more of crap like this goes on, ---- never mind, i'll just incriminate myself...

Re: Help stop the Red Rock Wilderness Act.
I have many relatives in Utah. I spent 2-4 weeks every summer in rural central Utah from the time I was around 5 years old until 16 or so. We spent so much time in the remote areas proposed to be closed, on Motorcycles, four wheel drives, camping, hunting, fishing and exploring. Many people I know in Utah were furious with the wilderness designations in the '90s and are fighting hard with this right now.Leemaisel wrote:After reading the entire bill, I want to vomit. No only does this close areas for recreation, I could be wrong, but I think some of these areas are also very rich in resources such and oil, coal and gold.
