Movie Help!!!

I am looking for the name of a movie I saw as a little kid. I can't remember the actor's names but remember the vague storyline. Maybe someone here can help me out... It is an outdoor adventure movie so it does fit our site too.

The movie is about a little boy who gets stranded in the mountains when his parents go off the edge of a cliff in the family RV while he is standing outside the RV. He runs into an old man who teaches him to survive in the wilderness.

Anyone know this movie...??? I really want to find it again.
