I kind of feel your pain there. I haven't been without my vehicle, but most of the stuff I ordered at the beginning of the month (including the roof rack) won't show up until Wednesday. So I get Wednesday evening and Thursday evening to install roof rack, antenna, lights, and re-install the phone, radio and antenna I already had installed which had to be moved. I still have to figure out just how to install the roof rack too, since they don't make a direct fit kit for a Discovery... I do have a working theory though.

At least they issued my callsign today. :)

I just read the vehicle requirements....... I'm not happy about the antenna height thing. I run a whip on my rig solely so people behind me can have a visual if I drop in a dip, round a corner. I know why the ruling was made.... In a situation where the vehicle rocks the taller atenna moves alot .... somebody probably got hit many many years ago because thats how long ago I heard that story

That long antennae might come in handy at Truckhaven until you try the "Arch". :D I think if you tie it forward Thomas, no one is going to give you a hard time.

Where I'm from, the issue with tall antennas are power lines. I can't tell you how many antennas I've seen cut off (zapped) by power lines.

Don't sweat the antenna length Thomas. Just come out and have some fun. :D

LOL, one of those months... looks like I'll be showing with less done on my truck than when I started. No lights, no armor, and an HT with a clip-on window antenna for me.

You get your truck back yet Ollie?

As long as you can get out there that's all that matters.

I got my truck back Tuesday afternoon and have been working ever spare minute trying to get it back together. I'm going on a total of about 4 hours of sleep in the last 72 hours. Hoping to finish up early this evening so I can get some rest before I leave tomorrow morning.
